Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup: Pitcher rankings, sleepers, advice for Sept. 29 image

There's a ton of talent on the mound Tuesday, but you may want to pass on the aces in your daily fantasy baseball lineups. Clayton Kershaw and Madison Bumgarner square off in what's sure to be a pitcher's duel, so it may be wise to bank on the red-hot Tyson Ross getting a win at home against the Brewers and saving some serious cash in the process.

There are plenty of other pitcher values, too, so today is a good day to pay up for hitters instead, and let other owners guess whether Kershaw or Bumgarner gets the win. We've got some suggestions for hitters in great matchups, and be sure to check out today's best DFS picks from Fantasy Alarm, too. Good luck in all your DFS contests!

Saves Sleepers

Jonathan Papelbon will miss the rest of the season due to various suspensions. It's unclear who will close for the Nats in his absence, but we might have gotten a clue on Monday when Matt Thornton was called on to finish a 5-1 Nationals' victory. To be fair, lefties were due up first and third in the ninth inning, but Thornton has pitched reasonably well this year and has some experience in the ninth inning. Casey Janssen and Blake Treinen are other candidates.

Zach Britton didn't pitch on Monday, but with Darren O'Day working the eighth in a tight game for the Orioles, we can assume Britton would have gotten the call in the ninth. The fact O'Day struggled only strengthens the case that Britton will see Baltimore's next save chance.

Detroit's Neftali Feliz picked up his third save in the past six days on Monday, cementing himself as the Tigers' closer for the final week of the season.

Weather Watch

Weather could be a major problem Tuesday. Here are the games being threatened by rain: Cardinals-Pirates in Pittsburgh (77-percent chance); Nationals-Braves in Atlanta (68 percent); Cubs-Reds in Cincinnati (68 percent); Blue Jays-Orioles in Baltimore (60 percent); Red Sox-Yankees in New York (57 percent); Mets-Phillies in Philadelphia (47 percent); and Twins-Indians in Cleveland (46 percent). Grab an umbrella.
