Week 8 Fantasy Rankings: Kickers image

Are you tired of kickers yet? They take up roster space, and just when you think they can't get any worse, you lose a game because a kicker posts nearly 20 fantasy points on you. It's such a frustrating position to understand, but that's what our weekly fantasy kickers always try to do. As is always the case, you could pick a random kicker out of a hat and he might end up being the No. 1 performer of the week -- and that doesn't change in Week 8.

We still tend to like kickers on good offenses playing in good conditions. It's always critical to check weather forecasts before trusting a kicker, and that's why grabbing a guy in a domed stadium is usually worth it on many occasions. The kickers in those scenarios usually get a boost -- unless their offenses are so bad that they have literally no chance to move the ball. Of course, you could always just pick the kicker with the worst matchup and he might outproduce our top-ranked guy. There's just no knowing with the position.

There are a few byes this week that could impact fantasy owners, including Matt Bryant/Giorgio Tavecchio (Atlanta), Brett Maher (Dallas), and Ryan Succop (Tennessee). If you need to pick up a new guy this week, Adam Vinatieri (Colts) could be a a solid option, while other guys like Randy Bullock (Bengals) and Dustin Hopkins (Redskins) could also garner consideration. Still, don't make the mistake of grabbing a kicker with a waiver claim. Just wait until the next day. It's never worth it to claim a guy that is a dime a dozen by fantasy standards.

Note: We'll update our rankings throughout the week if weather or injuries figure to be major factors. For even more fantasy insight, check out "How Your Fantasy Team Will Lose in Week 8" and our Week 8 preview podcast!
