NFL rookies have a lot to learn when they enter the league. They get a crash course in everything from managing money and media attention to navigating personal relationships.
Despite the 2025 NFL season not even starting yet, one of the most talked about rookies in this year's draft, Heisman winner Travis Hunter, 21, is getting some early, unsolicited advice on women from an unexpected person — rapper Bow Wow, formerly Lil' Bow Wow.
On an episode of Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe, Bow Wow, 38, offered some blunt advice for Hunter regarding his relationship with fiancée Leanna Lenee.
Speaking from personal experience, the rapper talked about how relationships can derail one's focus, especially for young athletes thrust into the public eye.
"These women can blind you out there," the rapper told Sharpe. "I know how these women sometimes can sidetrack the goal."
He continued, "You'll be so blind, just in low and just milking your a**," the rapper said. "When the milk dries up and it's powder, phew. They gone," he said, adding that it wasn't meant to be a diss, but more of a brotherly warning.
Bow Wow described the NFL rookie as "one of [his] little homies" and said he felt the need to pass on his wisdom.
"You cold, man. You the coldest of dudes. We all rootin' for you," Bow Wow said. "I had to be woke up a couple of times. I just didn't like seeing a young brother get played."
"These women can blind you out here. ... I know how these women sometimes can sidetrack the goal. I wanted bro to focus on the goal. You're about to make the biggest bag of your life. Travis Hunter got engaged to Leanna Lenee in February 2024
Hunter's fiancee, Lenee, was all smiles when she walked alongside him at the NFL draft in Green Bay on April 24.
Before the ceremony, the brunette gifted the Jaguars' rookie a Rolex watch and bracelet to celebrate the new chapter of his football career.
Lenee announced her engagement to the NFL player in February 2024 with an Instagram post that read, "A million times, yes."
It hasn't all been champagne and roses though. The couple's relationship has been scrutinized before.
In December 2024, Lenee came under fire after a video resembling her twerking on an unidentified man surfaced on X, leaving fans disappointed.
She was again criticized when social media sleuths noticed a "$" dollar sign tattoo on her wedding ring finger.
