Not that I didn’t before, but I have a newfound respect for the game of golf.
Thanks to adidas, I was able to attend their Three Stripes Retreat in Laguna Beach recently, which was a celebration of women who are growing the game of golf. The event included a mixture of athletes, such as professional golfer Rose Zhang, alongside several individuals from the brand working daily to do their part in growing the sport, such as Jennie Ko, director of design at adidas Golf, and Michelle Mulligan, Sr. Product Manager of the women’s division at adidas Golf.
The three-day retreat took place at The Ranch at Laguna Beach, which is a beautiful compound packed with 87 acres of grounds with canyons, a creek, and, of course, a stunning golf course to get some rounds in. Gorgeous views aside, we were able to explore adidas’ immersive product offerings and merchandise experience, along with participating in impactful conversations with athletes and industry professionals. This included being able to preview their Fall/Winter 2025 lineup. Here is a recap of the event.

Day 1
The first day of the event included us attendees being able to interact with adidas products first-hand, while also hearing from powerful adidas product team leads, and LPGA athlete, Patty Tavatanakit. Afterwards, we were able to enjoy a farm-to-table dinner on the patio, prepping us for an eventful day ahead.
Day 2
Day two kicked off with brunch on the Canyon View Room’s patio, where we were treated to a panel of inspirational women from all backgrounds within the golf industry to hear about their individual experiences with golfing, a discussion on how the game is growing and what they are doing to lead the change. From there, we were given boxed lunches prepared by the kitchen staff from Harvest to give us fuel to play nine rounds.
Amongst my teammates was Jennie Ko, who is dedicated and passionate about the work she does as the Director of Design. Ko is detail-oriented, driven and as hardworking as they come, putting her all into every single project she works on. She’s also an incredible golfer who has been a part of the game since her childhood, learning the game from her mother, who she tells me is an incredible golfer herself.
As for me, this experience was my first time playing golf seriously, and while I wouldn’t describe my skills as anywhere near good, I walked away with a newfound appreciation for the sport. Golfing takes a lot of physics and physicality to reach the level of being a great player, and trust me when I say you need to be in good physical shape to haul your golf cart around the entire course without quickly becoming winded.
After golfing, we were treated to dinner hosted at the property’s on-site restaurant, Harvest, where we received apparel for our upcoming yoga session.
Day 3
On the last day of the event, we met on the Canyon View Lawn bright and early to enjoy a sunrise stretch and mobility guided class. And before taking off in our different directions, we walked down to The Ranch’s oceanfront cafe, The Lost Pier Cafe, to enjoy the sound of the surf and feel the sand beneath our feet, while taking in the natural beauty of one of Laguna’s many beaches.
I truly had a wonderful time getting to experience the game of golf for the first time, and I will be working on my skills so that I can be a little bit better the next time I get out on the course. Adidas has a lot more in the pipeline for the second half of 2025 and beyond, so make sure to stay tuned via their website and official social media pages to keep up with their latest announcements.
