Jason and Kylie Kelce are the parents of four little girls, Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett, and Finnley. Prior to his retirement from the NFL in March of 2024, Jason had to balance being a dad and the pressures of being a Philadelphia Eagles player at the same time. Along with this pressure came long and grueling summer training camps and a limited amount of time to be with his children. Because of this, Jason would squeeze in play time with his young children whenever he could during these busy days.
Some of these special moments were captured on video and shared on social media, where some critics complained about the way in which Jason played with his kids.
In a recent episode of Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce, Kylie addressed some of those critics.
“The toughest part about training camp is just the amount of hours that the guys are committed to football. In an effort for the girls to see Jason and to get to play with him, we would go to training camp probably once or twice a week,” she began.
She then recalled a particular video in which Jason could be seen putting a yellow trash can over his daughter's head.
“People were bothered by that because it was a trash can, but what you don’t know is that at those practices, those trashcans are just used to store footballs, so it’s not gross. There wasn’t trash in the trashcan prior to my children being in the trashcan,” she said with a laugh.
She also referenced another video that showed Jason lying down on the football field while throwing a ball for his daughter, Wyatt.
“People took issue with the fact that Jason was playing fetch with Wyatt,” Kylie continued, noting that Jason was exhausted from practice at the time and was simply trying to get Wyatt’s energy out.
