Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover star Salma Hayek Pinault stole the show at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, rocking the red carpet in a stunning sequined gown that flaunted her flawless figure.
The in-demand beauty, 58, showed off the bikini body that landed her the cover of the coveted magazine in a shimmering green gown that fit her like a glove. The busty look boasted rows of feathers at the bottom.
Pinault finished the look with an up-do hairstyle that showed off her enormous necklace. The Frida Kahlo star is married to billionaire businessman François Henri Pinault.
The film icon was arriving to the 2025 Kering Women In Motion Awards amid the 78th Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 19. The in-demand star was in NYC three days prior to attend the launch party for the 2025 issue of SI swim, for which she was one of four cover models. The other three included gymnasts Livvy Dunne and Jordan Chiles, and size-inclusion icon Lauren Chan (who was also the first solo openly gay cover star).
It was Pinault’s first appearance in the empowering swimsuit issue, for which she was photographed in her home country of Mexico by renowned photographer Ruven Afanador. For her stunning cover story, she bared skin on a bright blanket, crawled in the sand, splashed in a pool, and posed with zebras.
She told the Today show on Tuesday, May 12 that she was insecure about the shoot until a whale came out of the ocean water behind her. “All of a sudden I felt, ‘This is magical…I'm 58 and I'm doing this,’” she said. “My generation, especially Mexican women, we thought we were going to be dismissed at 35, you know? And I got so excited and I felt really free…I started dancing, I loved it. And it turned out great.”
