At the beginning of June, Christian Moore got called up to the big leagues to play for the Angels, the team that drafted him just last summer. Only a year ago, Moore was making waves in the Men’s College World Series, taking the entire world by storm in his final collegiate games.
Like every player making their MLB debut, it was a dream come true for Moore. The rookie had grown up waiting for that moment, and he finally got his chance.
“Best day of my life,” Moore said.
Just a week ago, Moore was carving out his own place in MLB history. Since getting the call-up, he’s been a hard worker, making key plays for his team—including a two-home-run game, one of which was a walk-off.
On Wednesday night in Atlanta, Moore dove for a ball when his wrist caught on the grass, causing instant pain.
“Moore landed awkwardly on his left hand/wrist while diving for a groundball in the sixth inning and immediately came out of the game. He'll presumably head in for imaging to determine the extent of the damage done, and the Angels should provide more information on his status in the near future,” RotoStaff wrote.

While no official confirmation has come yet, an Angels minor league reporter noted that Chad Stevens was seen leaving the field amid many hugs.
“Sounds like Chad Stevens is getting the call. A lot of smiles and hugs as he left the field,” Jared Tims wrote.
Stevens was also pulled early from the game, and combined with the hugs, all signs aren’t looking good for Moore. The timing couldn’t be worse, as Moore was just starting to find his rhythm.
“If you look at my numbers before today, they weren’t too good. I think that's just part of it, being young and just trying to figure it out. There’s a lot of good arms in this league. But I’m finding my way,” Moore said last week.
This is an unfortunate situation for Moore, and hopefully, the injury isn’t too severe. All signs point toward Moore hitting the injured list, with an official announcement expected soon.
