The road to Omaha is about to begin.

The 2025 NCAA baseball tournament kicks off with regionals starting on Friday, May 30th, but the selection committee filled out the bracket on Monday, May 26.

With no dominant team in college baseball this year, Vanderbilt, the SEC tournament champion, earned the No. 1 overall seed and will face Wright State to open the Nashville regional. Texas, the SEC regular season champion, is the No. 2 seed and will face Houston Christian in Austin. Defending champion Tennessee earned the No. 14 overall seed and will host Miami (OH) in the Knoxville regional to begin its repeat quest.

The selection committee made a few controversial omissions, including Big East tournament runner-up UConn, but the field of 64 is now set, and it's anyone's title to win.

NCAA baseball tournament bracket 2025

The top 16 seeds in the NCAA baseball tournament were announced on Sunday, May 25, and the full bracket was revealed on Monday, May 26.

The top 16 teams in the country will serve as regional hosts for a four-team, double-elimination bracket. The top team in each regional will face the fourth team, and the No. 2 and No. 3 teams will square off. The winners of each of the first games will move on to face one another, while the losers will play in an elimination game. The brackets continue until three teams have two losses each and are eliminated.

The winners of the double-elimination brackets will advance to the super regionals, a best-of-three series hosted by the higher seed. The winner of the No. 1 regional will face the winner of No. 16, No. 2 will face No. 15, and so on.

The winners of the super regionals will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
