LSU vs. UCLA baseball final score, results: Tigers survive two-day marathon in 2025 College World Series image

It took two days, but the LSU Tigers are moving on in the College World Series with a 9-5 win over UCLA.

The game saw a blistering start, as UCLA scored three runs in the top of the first inning to get out to an early, 3-0 lead. However, LSU came right back in the bottom of the inning with for runs of its own, including a three-run home run by Jared Jones, giving the Tigers' a one-run lead after the first.

LSU added one more run in the game before mother nature hit, however. After the third inning on Monday night, rain came and suspended the game until Tuesday morning, forcing both teams to rethink their pitching strategies.

After the game resumed, though, it was more of the same for LSU, who took a 7-3 lead after scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth. From there, the Tigers' pitching locked the Bruins down, not allowing runs until the eighth inning, when UCLA added two while already down five.

LSU used four pitchers, as Anthony Eyanson started and Casan Evans relieved him after the game resumed. Evans threw four shutout innings before allowing two runs, hurling 68 pitches and giving the Tigers much-needed depth out of the bullpen.

UCLA, meanwhile, has a quick turnaround as they must face Arkansas tonight while facing elimination. The Bruins had to use eight pitchers in the game, including six on Tuesday afternoon, and now must figure out how they're going to attack a more-rested Razorbacks team.

The Sporting News tracked live updates from Tuesday's match between the Tigers and the Bruins.
