Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are finally ready to face off to determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield in 1999.
The giants fight in Saudi Arabia on May 18 and it airs on DAZN and ESPN+.
Fury is the current WBC heavyweight champion, beating Deontay Wilder in 2020 to win the belt. He is a former unified champion and the lineal heavyweight champion after beating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. Briefly retiring in early 2022, he returned a few months later. His last fight was a decision win in October against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Usyk has a chance to become a two-division undisputed champion. The Ukrainian fought for and won cruiserweight gold from 2016-2018, beating everyone in the World Boxing Super Series tournament to unify the division. Moving to heavyweight, he beat Anthony Joshua in September 2021 to become the WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight champion. After winning The Ring belt in a rematch, his last fight was a decision win in August against Daniel Dubois.

“I’m gonna look forward to that fight. I’m going with Tyson Fury. I think he’s going to overpower him, catch up with him and overpower him, that’s what I think, but I could be wrong,” Tyson told Fight Hub via Boxing Social. “Little guys are difficult to fight ’cause they’re harder to hit ’cause they’re smaller. He (Usyk) runs a lot, he moves a lot, Tyson’s probably gonna have a few rounds to get used to his moments, but it’s gonna be difficult, he’s very small, very fast.”
