It’s hard to fathom, but our MLB prop picks from last night played for teams that combined to score 17 runs, yet neither target could clear 1.5 hits, runs and RBI. That sort of variance is part of the game, but it’s an extra little bit of salt on the wounds when you’re mired in a slump.

One player who’s been allergic to slumps this season is Will Smith of the Dodgers, and he draws the most favorable matchup in baseball on Tuesday night. He and his teammates are in Colorado to face the Rockies, and Smith will be looking to continue his torrid stretch against the woeful German Marquez. Below, we explain our favorite picks and the odds on MLB betting apps.

MLB Player Prop Pick #1: Smith Over 2.5 Hits, Runs and RBI (+100 at Bet365)

Smith enters play slashing .364/.410/.818 over the last two weeks, with 12 hits, 10 runs, four homers and nine RBI. He’s cleared 2.5 hits, runs and RBI eight times in his last 11 starts, and ranks third in MLB in batting average and fourth in OPS. Smith is making hard contact at a career-best 46.1% clip, while his .216 ISO is his highest mark since the 2021 season.

Smith has the luxury of having big bats all around him, offering protection and not allowing opposing hurlers to pitch around him. He’s slashing .310/.397/.500 versus righties this season, recording three more home runs and 26 more RBI against them than versus lefties.

As for the matchup, it’s pristine. Marquez owns a 6.11 ERA and 1.64 WHIP and has yielded a.315/.372/.477 slash line to opposing hitters through 15 starts.

Check out a variety of MLB prop boosts on bet365. For example, the odds for Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts to each record 2+ total bases in this game have been improved to +375.

MLB Player Prop Pick #2: Skubal 8+ Strikeouts (-150 at DraftKings)

Our next selection is 8+ strikeouts for Detroit’s Tarik Skubal. The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner is in the midst of another phenomenal season, ranking in the top four in wins, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP.

Skubal’s velocity is up this season across each of his five pitches, while his 17.1% swing and miss rate is the highest mark of his career. Opposing hitters are making hard contact at only a 27.9% clip, while his 32% K rate is one of the best in baseball.

On paper, a matchup versus the Athletics looks surprisingly difficult. The A’s are an above average lineup, but they do have a glaring weakness. The whiff at the 11th highest rate in baseball, and their strikeout numbers are significantly worse versus lefties like Skubal than righties.

The Athletics strikeout at a 27% clip against southpaws, and they’ve yet to face a dominant left-hander like Skubal this season. Skubal doesn’t have a ton of history against these A’s hitters, but he does own a 29% strikeout rate over 38 at-bats. You can make these MLB prop picks with a no sweat bet on DraftKings.
