Another split on Tuesday’s MLB player props card left our weekly record at 2-2. We easily cashed our Clayton Kershaw wager, and the alt line lean at plus-money odds, but Mike Trout failed to deliver in a favorable spot against the Red Sox.
Wednesday features another loaded 15-game slate, and we won’t have to wait long before dipping our toes into the MLB betting action. First pitch of the NL Central clash between the Brewers and Reds is set for 12:40 pm ET, and that’s where we’ll find an extremely undervalued Andrew Abbott.
MLB Player Prop Pick #1: Andrew Abbott Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-130 at DraftKings)
The Cincy southpaw enters play today with an undefeated 5-0 record, and a sparkling 1.51 ERA. Abbott has exceeded 4.5 strikeouts in five of his past six starts, and is a good bet to do so again versus a free-swinging Milwaukee lineup.
The Brewers begin the day with an above average K rate, featuring six players who whiff at a 20%+ clip. Rhys Hoskins is the biggest offender (30%), while star outfielder Christian Yelich has fanned in 6 of 15 career at-bats against Abbott.
As for Abbott, his strikeout numbers are up across the board. He’s posted a career best 28.2% K rate through two-plus months, and owns a double digit K per 9 mark for the first time in his three MLB seasons (10.01). His 10.7% swinging strike rate is just shy of a career-high, while all four of his primary pitches are considered plus options for the first time as a pro.
MLB Player Prop Pick #2: Junior Caminero Over 1.5 Hits, Runs and RBI (-120 at Bet365)
For our next selection, we’re targeting Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero. The 21-year-old has been one of the best hitters in baseball over the last 15 days, putting up outrageous numbers. He sports -120 odds to exceed 1.5 hits, runs and RBI tonight versus the Rangers, something he’s accomplished eight times in his last 11 games.
Caminero is slashing .362/.400/.894 over the past two weeks, with 17 hits, 13 runs, six homers and 18 RBI. He’s one of the driving forces behind the Rays above league average offense, producing hard contact at an elite 50.6% clip.
Tampa Bay enters play winners of 10 of their last 13 games, and should have no trouble getting to Texas righty Kumar Rocker. The 25-year-old is being smacked around by enemy lineups these days, yielding 17 hits and 12 runs over his past 12 innings. Rocker’s failed to make it out of the 4th inning in three of five starts, and boasts an 8.10 ERA.
Opposing hitters are slashing .341/.379/.534 so far in 2025, making hard contact at a 50.7% mark. Fire up your Rays tonight, led by Caminero.
MLB Player Prop Pick #3: Mike Yastrzemski Under 0.5 Hits (-105 at DraftKings)
While Caminero is one of MLB’s hottest hitters, few batters have been as ice cold as Mike Yastrzemski lately. The Giants right-fielder is slashing .111/.184/.156 over the last 15 days, with a 22% strikeout rate, and a .162 OBA.
Yastrzemski has gone hitless in three straight, and nine of his past 12 games, and is a good bet to do so again tonight versus San Diego’s Nick Pivetta. The Padres hurler is on pace for career-best marks across the board, entering play ranked top-25 in wins, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP.
Pivetta’s hard hit allowed rate is at a career-low 23.7% this season, while his K% (29%) and opponent average (.198) are some of the top marks in the league. He’s also got a great track record versus Yastrzemski and the rest of the San Francisco lineup, holding them to a lifetime .143/.211/.343 slash line.
