The MLB All-Star Game is set for Tuesday night at 8 pm ET. The National League starting pitcher is the young phenom Paul Skenes, with the American League starter as the 2024 AL Cy Young winner in Tarik Skubal.

We'll dive into the odds, as well as our MLB All-Star Game picks. It comes as a minor surprise to see the NL as the slight favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook, considering the AL has won 10 of the last 11. It is essentially a pick'em on all other books.

AL Moneyline-102-110-110

The AL’s only loss in the last 11 meetings wager back in 2023 before winning again last year. FanDuel has the NL as slight favorites on the moneyline, making it much better to take the NL on DraftKings or bet365.

MLB All-Star Game Picks: NL Moneyline (-110) DraftKings/bet365

Both teams are supremely talented (they are All-Stars, after all), but the slight edge does go to the NL when looking at top-to-bottom talent. Generally, these All-Star Games are won off reserves and late-game heroics as opposed to anything done by the starting lineups. Last year, a 5th-inning home run by Duran was the games deciding factor, and in 2023 an eighth-inning home run by Elias Diaz broke a 2-2 tie to give the nod to the NL. Both of those batters won the MVP.

The NL has the slightly better bullpen, especially in terms of swing-and-miss stuff, and they get the edge with the reserves bats as well. Sometimes, it is something as small as that which changes the game, so we'll ride with the NL here.

Under 7 Runs (+100) bet365

This is definitely a low number when considering MLB betting totals, but the under is the way to go here. Although this is being played at a hitter’s park (especially for left-handed pull hitters), it is hard to go against the pitching in these types of events. The over did hit last year, but prior to that the under had cashed in five of six contests. So, it is five of the last seven All-Star Games when taking last year into account.

As the saying generally goes, good pitching beats good hitting, which is why these games tend to trend towards the under. These are, of course, among the best pitchers in the league (some had to drop out, which is why it is not THE best pitchers), and they only must pitch an inning or so, making it likely we will see all their best stuff. Roll with the under here.
