In what could quite possibly be the last NBA game of the season, the NBA Finals continue on tonight. The Thunder head to Indianapolis with a 3-2 lead and hopes of closing out the series tonight and avoiding the need for a Game 7.
After dropping Game 3 to go down 2-1, the Thunder have now won two straight to be one win away from winning the NBA Finals. Of course, the Pacers have been proving people wrong all playoffs, and have a chance to continue to do so by defending their home court and taking Game 6.
Game 6 is being played in Indianapolis, with tip-off set for 8:30 p.m. ET. ABC will be on the call.

As you can see, the books are in agreement that the Thunder should be pretty heavily favored to win tonight and claim the NBA Championship. For context, the -235 odds converts to a win percentage of 70.1%. Granted, that does include the vig, but, either way, the sportsbooks are pretty high on the Thunder.
It is hard to argue with that, as there are a lot of factors in favor of the Thunder. They were heavily favored coming into the series, of course, and seem to have righted the ship after dropping two of the first three games. All three of the victories for the Thunder involved them covering the spread as well. Granted, it took a late flurry in Game 4 for them to win by seven, but they still covered the spread.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the late-game hero in Game 5, with Jalen Williams and his 40-point barrage in Game 5 being too much for the Pacers.
Thunder vs. Pacers Betting Analysis
Presumably, the biggest hurdle for the Pacers to overcome is the injury to Tyrese Haliburton, which is the Pacers can lose by six tonight and still cover the spread. Despite Pascal Siakam winning the Eastern Conference Finals MVP, Haliburton is the engine that makes the Pacers offense go. Him being banged up is a huge deal, and something that is going to make it very difficult for the Pacers to pull off the upset tonight.
Granted, despite losing by 11 in Game 5, the Pacers did come back and make it a two-point game in the fourth quarter before the Thunder closed the game on a run. The Pacers did that even with Haliburton not making a single field goal in the entirety of that game.
This is also a Pacers team that has shocked the NBA world time and time again throughout this playoff run. They have managed an unbelievable fourth quarter comeback in each series during this run, and should be given the proper respect for what they have done in these playoffs.
That said, the Thunder were always going to be the toughest test for the Pacers, and that was with a fully healthy team. With a banged up Haliburton, it makes things very difficult for the Pacers.
Thunder vs. Pacers Game 6 Predictions
While the Thunder most likely win tonight, the best play against the spread is backing the Pacers +6.5, which you can get at -108 at DraftKings. It might seem counterintuitive, but the Pacers outplayed the Thunder for about seven of the eight quarters played in Indianapolis. It took an incredible effort from SGA in the fourth quarter, as referenced earlier, when he scored 15 points in the final five minutes of that game. It really looked as though the Pacers were going to take a commanding 3-1 lead before Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took over.
So, this has the makings of a game that the Thunder are able to pull out in the end, but the Pacers not going down without a field. They have a deep enough team to make things hard on the Thunder, but, end of the day, the Thunder are just too good to lose outright. So, we'll take the Thunder in a close one tonight.
