MLB Player Props: Picks and Best Bets for Monday, May 19 Games image

Another split on yesterday’s MLB player props card closed out our week with an 8-8 record. Fortunately, our Merrill Kelly wager paid out handsomely at +125 odds, keeping us in the black for the day and the week.

Monday marks the start of a new week and another opportunity to bet against baseball’s worst team. The Rockies return home to Coors Field for a series with the Phillies, and one of our favorite punching bags, Kyle Freeland, will take the mound. That’s great news for the entire Philly lineup, especially Kyle Schwarber, who enters play on an absolute tear this month.\

MLB Player Prop Picks for May 19

Kyle Schwarber Over 2.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-105 at Bet365)

Schwarber leads all Philadelphia hitters in May with 6 home runs, 11 runs, and 12 RBI. He’s slashing .288/.362/.596 over the last two weeks, clearing over 2.5 hits, runs, and RBI in five of his past eight games.

Schwarber may be a left-handed bat, but don’t let the fact that Freeland is a southpaw discourage you in this matchup. The Phillies left-fielder has a significantly better slash line(.305/.446/.712) versus lefties this season, smacking 7 of his 15 homers off them.

As for Freeland, his days as an MLB starting pitcher may be numbered. In nine starts this season, he’s surrendered 64 hits, 37 runs, and a .354 opponent batting average. Enemy batters boast a .459 slugging percentage and .814 OPS against him, and are making hard contact at a 43.6% clip.

The 32-year-old has been especially bad at home in 2025, going 0-3 in four starts, with a 9.77 ERA, and a .410 opponent batting average.

MLB Player Props Pick #2: Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-145 at Bet365)

After the Phillies-Rockies game, the next highest total contest on Monday’s slate is the Diamondbacks-Dodgers matchup. You never need an excuse to target Freddie Freeman the way he’s been swinging the bat this season, but just in case you did, his mastery of Arizona hurler Brandon Pfaadt should do the trick.

Freeman enters play second in MLB in batting average and OPS. He’s 10th in RBI and top-40 in runs, clearing over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI nine times in May alone.

The 35-year-old has a career-high .295 ISO and is making hard contact at a 48% rate. He's slashing .429/.457/.698 in May, and is a .378 hitter at home through 74 at-bats.

As for Pfaadt, his 6-3 record is masking some underwhelming stats. Pfaadt’s strikeout rate is down this season, while his home run rate is up. He’s coughed up three home runs in his last 15 innings and has yielded a 47.1% hard hit rate, the worst mark of his MLB tenure.
