MLB Player Props: Picks and Best Bets for Friday, June 20 Games image

A 1-2 day in the MLB player props streets yesterday brought our weekly record back to the .500 mark at 3-3. Friday marks the first of three consecutive days of 15-game slates to bet, giving us plenty of opportunity to get our record back in the black.

Our favorite MLB player prop to bet tonight comes from the Diamondbacks-Rockies contest atCoors Field, but it’s not in the market you’d typically expect. We’re buying Arizona starter ZacGallen, as he's in line for a major K output against the Colorado lineup.

MLB Player Prop Picks for June 20

Zac Gallen Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-145 at DraftKings)

Gallen enters play with a K/9 rate of 9, meaning we likely need 6+ innings out of him for this prop to cash. He’s accomplished that feat in three straight outings, striking out six in his previous start versus a much better-hitting Padres squad.

Gallen’s K numbers are down slightly from a year ago, but he’s still posting a double-digit swing-and-miss rate. That will serve him well tonight, as no team whiffs more than the Rockies. Colorado is averaging 10 strikeouts per game, with eight of the nine projected starters in their lineup owning a K rate north of 25% versus righties.

Going into Coors Field is always a daunting task for opposing pitchers, but it hasn’t affectedGallen’s strikeout performance in the past. He’s whiffed 31 batters in his last four starts in Colorado, while current Rockies batters have fanned at a 39% clip against him over 105 at-bats.

Manny Machado Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-135 at Bet365)

Sticking in the NL West, we’re also targeting San Diego’s Manny Machado to record over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI against the Royals and Michael Lorenzen. Machado enters play ranked top-17 in batting average and OPS, slashing .310/.355/.566 over the last 30 days.

He’s accumulated 35 hits, 17 runs, 8 homers, and 25 RBIs during that stretch, clearing this line 19 times since late May. Machado is making hard contact at a 51.3% clip, his highest mark in five seasons, and the matchup against Lorenzen is quite favorable.

The Royals right-hander is allowing over a hit per inning and has already surrendered 14 home runs and 142 total bases in 2025. His hard hit allowed rate is over 40.1% for only the second time in his 11-year career, while his fastball, slider, and curveball all grade out as negative pitches.

Hunter Brown 8+ Strikeouts (+128 at Bet365)

Colorado is the only team that strikes out more often than the Angels. That’s good news for Houston’s Hunter Brown, who’s in the midst of a Cy Young-worthy campaign. Brown ranks top-6in MLB in wins, ERA, and WHIP, and 9th in strikeouts. He’s fanned at least 8+ hitters in eight of his past 10 outings, and owns a K/9 of 11.0, the highest mark of his career.

Brown has struck out the current batters in LA’s lineup at a 25% clip over his career, and has limited them to a .139/.225/.167 slash line. You could bet over 6.5 K’s for Brown at heavily juiced odds, but we’re taking a more aggressive line targeting a plus-money payout.
