The Texas Longhorns baseball team is picking up another transfer. Aiden Robbins, who spent the past two years at Seton Hall, announced Thursday he is transferring to the University of Texas. Robbins announced on Instagram that he would thank Seton Hall for “an amazing 2 years” and declare his commitment to join the Longhorns.

Robbins captured the BIG EAST batting title in 2025, finishing with a .422 average -- the only player in the conference to hit over .400 this season. As the Pirates’ leadoff hitter, Robbins was a consistent catalyst at the top of the lineup, reaching base at a high clip and setting the tone for Seton Hall’s offense.

He opened the 2025 campaign dominantly, hitting .625 (10-for-16) with four doubles, a triple, six RBIs, and six runs scored in the first three games, earning BIG EAST Player of the Week honors. Robbins also delivered a standout performance against Austin Peay, going 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, four runs scored, and four RBIs in a 15-3 victory.

On the bases, Robbins showcased his speed and aggressiveness, swiping at least 16 bases during the season. Defensively, Robbins was perfect in the outfield during the opening weekend, recording eight putouts without an error. Robbins will join the Longhorns at a crucial time as Jim Schlossnagle and the Horns looking to bounce back after an early exit from the SEC Tournament and an early exit from the CWS with back-to-back losses against a system school, UTSA.

Robbins chose to transfer to Texas over other programs, including Tennessee and Texas A&M, mainly due to the opportunity to play a significant role, posting a .422 batting average at Seton Hall, and is expected to be an immediate contributor in the Longhorns' outfield. The Longhorns need to strengthen their outfield after recent departures, and their ambition to contend for a national championship made Texas an appealing destination for Robbins, who still has two years of eligibility remaining.
