The New York Knicks' decision to fire head coach Tom Thibodeau came as a bit of a surprise. Whether it was due to the team finally finding some success and advancing further than they had in many years, or the fact that the Knicks lacked a clear plan when they fired Thibodeau, everything seemed to be a question mark.
But from Thibodeau’s perspective, it might not be as difficult as it might sound to not be a head coach for the Knicks anymore. He'll still receive a substantial amount of money, and former Knicks player and league MVP Derrick Rose spoke about it.
"He's good. I think you can't be mad when you're walking away with $30 million. You can't be too sorry for him," Rose said. "But he's in good spirits. That's my guy, we're like 'That will the end. He's good, Jalen's still in New York, he's gonna be ballin'. Everybody wins, I feel like."
Rose understands how tough this business is, as he dealt with a gruesome injury after being one of the better players in the world.

It was unfortunate to see how his career went after that, but he still competed at the highest level and played for many years after. However, if there's one player who understands what it takes to lose everything at once, it's certainly the former Knicks and Chicago Bulls star guard.
Thibodeau didn't get a job during this head coaching cycle, but it seems likely that he'll eventually get one next year or in the next few years.
