ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania has responded to a tweet made by Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, which seemed to take a jab at Charania’s recent reporting about the former MVP.
Antetokounmpo — one of the league’s most heavily rumored trade targets — tweeted out a single sentence on Wednesday begging the question “Does anyone else miss Woj??” Referring to former ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
The tweet is thought to have been a jab aimed at Charania. The insider for ESPN appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and insinuated that Antetokounmpo could drag out the process, and could be open to exploring other options in the near future. Antetokounmpo has yet to indicate whether he will request a trade, or return to Milwaukee for a 13th season.
Charania appeared McAfee’s show once again on Friday, and was asked about Antetokounmpo’s sneak diss tweet, to which Charania defended himself and his reporting while also refuting any rumors of an ongoing quibble with Antetokounmpo.
“I really believe me and Giannis are all good,” he said. “I did see [the tweet] and I would like to say I think we all in the industry really miss [Wojnarowski]…at the end of the day, I very much trust my reporting.”
The 30-year-old Antetokounmpo is coming off another spectacular season in 2024, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game as he was named an All-Star, and to All-NBA for the 9th consecutive season. Whether it’s in Milwaukee, or anywhere else, Antetokounmpo figures to be one of the league’s finest talents once again in 2026.
