Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo disses Shams Charania in cryptic post involving Woj image

It was one of the fiercest rivalries the NBA and it all happened off the court.

For years, NBA insiders Adrian 'Woj' Wojnarowski and Shams Charania raced against each other to break the latest scoops across the league.

But when Woj stepped down in September of 2024, it went from a competition to a monopoly as Charania was free to dominate basketball breaking news.

Not all fans are happy with the new order and NBA players have thoughts too.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been in trade rumors all summer after reports that he would be open to a change of scenery.

But a recent report from Charania seemed to draw the ire of the two-time MVP.

The NBA insider appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Wednesday to share that he believes the Antetokounmpo drama could continue through the summer.

"What I'm being told is his status won't be tied to the draft and it won't be tied to free agency," Charania said. "His future plays out into July and August when he can see the landscape of the league and see what other teams do."

This comes after Antetokounmpo publicly said he'd like to be back in the NBA Finals "with the Bucks."

'The Greek Freak' seemed to be put off by Charania's report.

He took to social media to share a thought not directly addressing the report, but mentioning Charania's former counterpart.

"Does anyone else miss Woj?!" the superstar tweeted the same day the insider mentioned him on ESPN.

It could be a coincidence but the timing is uncanny.

Woj and Shams have been linked for years and if Giannis is missing one insider he may be alluding to the deficiencies of the other.

There's no way to confirm the theory but reading between the lines it looks like a subtle diss at Shams.

Maybe the insider will think twice before his next report about Antetokounmpo.
