Bucks predicted to have disappointing offseason amid latest rumors image

The Milwaukee Bucks could be in trouble over the next few months.

After losing in the first round for the third straight season, the Bucks are staring at an offseason that could shape the future of the franchise. Of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future is at the forefront of every rumor, but it appears that his time in Milwaukee will at least continue into next season.

While that’s great news for Milwaukee that it’s keeping its franchise player, they still have significant work to do to build a contending team around him. The Bucks’ situation is far from ideal, but they might be able to find some pieces in the trade market and free agency to keep them afloat while Damian Lillard recovers.

Of course, that is easier said than done. In a recent Bleacher Report article, Zach Buckley predicted that the Bucks could have a disappointing offseason and be unable to make the big splashes they’ve been rumored to make.

If Milwaukee is unable to make those big moves this offseason, it would make some sense. Outside of dealing an injured and aging Lillard, Milwaukee’s top trade piece is Kyle Kuzma, who is coming off a rough playoff performance.

Add in that the Bucks could lose some key players for nothing in free agency, such as Gary Trent Jr. and Brook Lopez, and they could be in some trouble. Antetokounmpo is enough to keep the Bucks competitive and get them to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, but taking another step might not be possible in their current situation.
