The Golden State Warriors continue to suggest that the Jonathan Kuminga situation has prevented them from signing any of the top players remaining on the free agency market.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, there aren't exactly a slew of options for them to consider. Al Horford is a good player, De’Anthony Melton is also decent, but there are a few other names they could potentially go after.

That includes Malcolm Brogdon, a former Rookie of the Year winner for the Milwaukee Bucks and Sixth Man of the Year winner for the Boston Celtics.

Some believe that the Warriors are the best landing spot for him, with Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report recently linking the two sides. Pincus noted that because of the lack of moves the Warriors have made this offseason, Brogdon could be the best fit for them.

“Brogdon played a bit part in 2024-25 for the Wizards, making 24 appearances after various injuries. He averaged 12.7 points and 4.1 assists per game, but he struggled with his outside shot (28.6 percent). Almost 33, he could still help a team with playoff aspirations as an experienced point guard off the bench.

“Teams like the L.A. Clippers and Dallas Mavericks had shown interest, but they went with Chris Paul and D'Angelo Russell, respectively. The most obvious team in need may be the Golden State Warriors,” he wrote.

On paper, as things stand, the Warriors aren't in a good position to win a championship.

However, unless Brogdon can sign with another contender, with most not having an open roster spot, the Warriors might be the best team he can play for at this stage.

He could also welcome the opportunity to play with a storied franchise under a great head coach.
