Denver Nuggets free agent Russell Westbrook is going viral this week for a photo revealing the severity of his hand injury.
Appearing at the ESPY’s, a photo of Westbrook’s surgically repaired hand has been making the rounds due to the vast swelling, leaving many concerned for the 2017 MVP.
Westbrook suffered two separate breaks in his right hand during the regular season, and after the season underwent a procedure to repair said breaks.
In his lone season in Denver, Westbrook averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game in 75 appearances (36 starts).
Westbrook has been one of the more sought after guards available on the free agent market, however this injury news is sure to have a negative effect on his market. Given his age and new injury concerns, Westbrook might have a tougher time finding a deal than he previously would’ve.
