NBA scout makes bold predictions for Luka Doncic's 'revenge' season after Mavericks drama image

The Dallas Mavericks are only a couple of months away from tipping off the first full season of the post-Luka Doncic era, and it could have mixed results.

Nico Harrison is considered a madman around the NBA world for his shocking decision to send Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, but also for all of his seemingly great moves outside of that deal. Although the “Fire Nico” chants are likely to echo throughout Dallas again next season, the Mavericks GM will get a chance to see his plan unfold in real time.

With Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg ready to star for Dallas until Kyrie Irving gets back, the team is hoping to at least be in the playoff picture next season. Meanwhile, the Lakers and Doncic are hoping to contend for an NBA title, and one NBA scout recently told DallasHoopsJournal.com what he expects from the former Dallas star next season.

“Man, he looks incredible,” the scout said. “He’s quicker and more explosive. He’s getting by people more easily. I think he’s on a mission, man. I think he’s gonna win MVP and the scoring title next season. He wants to get revenge on Dallas for basically fat-shaming him.”

Based on everything that has transpired in the months since Dallas dealt the Slovenian star, a revenge season could absolutely be on the table for Doncic. While he would likely deny that he is playing to simply prove the Mavericks wrong, someone as competitive as him certainly has that in the back of his mind.

Although it would take an unbelievable season for Doncic to get an MVP and the scoring title, he has certainly shown he is capable of playing at that level in the past. With the Mavericks already considered the losers of this trade after Doncic’s extension, a big year from the superstar could add salt to the wound.
