The Dallas Mavericks have selected Cooper Flagg with the first overall pick, bringing the Duke star to Texas, an exciting time for the franchise.

Flagg is hopeful to be one of the faces of the league, someone the Mavericks can rely on for the next decade plus.

On paper, Flagg is the perfect player. Frankly, he's perfectly built, can do everything on the court, and should be as good as many expect him to be.

His size is crucial here and should help him develop well in the NBA. If he continues to knock down shots and score at will, his defense will take over, and his size is a big reason for that.

Cooper Flagg measurements

Cooper Flagg wingspan

Flagg's wingspan came in at 7-0.

Cooper Flagg weight

Weight-wise, Flagg was 221 pounds.

Cooper Flagg age

Perhaps more important than anything else, Flagg should only be a freshman in college right now. He should be entering his first season at Duke, but he reclassified to the 2024 high school class, allowing him to be drafted earlier.

He's only 18 years old and was born on December 21, 2006.

Flagg could face some struggles in the NBA, but the expectation around the league is for him to be as good as any rookie who has ever come into the NBA.

Perhaps his age will be a bit of a factor here, given how young he is, but he's ready to play with the best of the best and has all the goods to succeed at the highest of levels in Dallas.
