The Chicago Bulls might be able to find a trade partner for their former first-round pick.

Over the past few seasons, the Bulls have mostly been stuck in the middle. With three straight play-in appearances, the Bulls have struggled to make any noise in the East.

In the past year or so, the Bulls have at least tried to pick a direction, opting to part ways with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine to try and bottom out. However, with Josh Giddey’s big March and the rest of the team coming together, they finished with the ninth seed but missed the playoffs once again.

As the team looks ahead to its next era, Chicago needs to part ways with some of the players who have been around for the past few seasons. While Nikola Vucevic’s name has been the most popular in trade rumors, Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently threw Patrick Williams’ name into that mix.

While Buckley put Williams into the discussion, Suns on SI’s Jeremy Brener noted that Phoenix could be a solid destination for him. As one of the top picks in the 2020 draft, Williams has never been able to break out in Chicago as intended.

With the Suns looking to add some help on the wing and in the frontcourt, Williams could be a low-risk acquisition for the Suns, even with Williams already in the midst of his five-year, $90 million extension. Assuming the Bulls could get at least something decent in return for the former top five pick, Phoenix would make a lot of sense as a destination.
