The Boston Celtics are expected to lose Al Horford, but he remains unsigned. Many have speculated that Horford will sign with the Golden State Warriors, but the holdup remains uncertain.

According to a recent report from Marc J. Spears on SportsCenter on Monday, he noted that the Warriors expected him to sign last week, but he didn't. He later added that multiple other teams are interested.

"Golden State expected him to sign last week, he didn't. Lakers, Milwaukee, Atlanta, I believe, are also interested in the nearly 40-year-old guy, who always has retirement on the table. He's not in any hurry, he's got a sixth kid coming on the way, he lives in Atlanta and Boston in the offseason,” he said.

On paper, the Warriors are one of the more below-average teams in the NBA, so landing the former Celtics big man would be a step in the right direction.

Of course, anything is possible when a team has Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry, as well as Draymond Green's defensive abilities, but it's tough to say that the Warriors are true championship contenders right now.

Adding a 39-year-old Horford doesn't necessarily change that, but he’d put them in a better position than they're currently in.

Last season, Harford was still one of the more important pieces of the Celtics, knocking down big-time shots from the corner and at the top of the wing, as well as playing above-average defense.

He didn't have a great time leaving the Celtics the first time, so it's possible that could be the case again.

However, from the Warriors' perspective, they need him a lot more than he needs them.
