Eberechi Eze remains one player with his future still undecided heading into the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

The Crystal Palace star is of interest to some of the Premier League's top clubs and looks likely to be on his way out of last season's FA Cup winners.

Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal are the most likely destinations for Eze, with both North London clubs highly keen on the England international. The player has a release clause of £68m which expires this Friday (August 15).

Per The Guardian, Spurs have begun talks over a deal to sign the attacking midfielder, but the Europa League holders do not plan on triggering Eze's release clause.

Instead, the club wants to purchase the 27-year-old for a fee around £60m.

Thomas Frank's side require more creativity after James Maddison recently suffered an ACL injury during pre-season, effectively ruling him out for most of the upcoming season.

Arsenal's interest in Eze has cooled since the start of the summer as the club is in need of sales before making a move for the Palace star.

However, if Arsenal do manage to find the funds to go after Eze, the club will have an advantage over others as the player reportedly favours a move to Mikel Arteta's side.

Darren Bent advises Eze to join Spurs' rivals

Former Spurs striker Darren Bent believes a move for Eze to his old club would not be the right one and that arch rivals Arsenal would be a better destination for the player.

"If you’re looking at Arsenal and Tottenham. Yes Spurs won a trophy last year, but they finished fourth bottom. In my opinion Arsenal are in a better place. They finished second three times in a row," said Bent on talkSport

The former England international explained that Eze would have no issue getting into Arsenal's starting line-up and could displace a couple of players in particular.

"I think if Eze comes he does start and I still like (Gabriel) Martinelli but Eze is a better player."

"Odegaard is not flying like he was. I watched (Arsenal) all pre-season. (He) hasn’t got going yet. I just think for Eze, Arsenal would be the better fit for him," Bent added.

Bent's latest comments are unlikely to go down well with the supporters of his former club, but crucially, Spurs appear to be a more likely landing spot for Eze at this moment.

While his future remains unclear, Eze has been preparing for the new Premier League season with Palace, and featured in his current side's Community Shield win against Liverpool over the weekend.
