Manchester United are prepared to walk away from a transfer deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
On the back of netting 20 Premier League goals for the Bees in 2024/25, the Cameroon international has been tipped to leave the Gtech Community Stadium, in pursuit of a fresh challenge.
However, with Thomas Frank heading across the capital to take charge at Tottenham, the situation has changed, with United's chances taking a major hit.
Frank wants Mbeumo to follow him to Spurs to spearhead a charge into the 2025/26 campaign and Ruben Amorim could now look elsewhere.
United had been hopeful of landing Mbeumo with a reported bid of £45m [$61m] plus £10m [$13.5m] in add-ons, but the Frnak factor is strong, and the Red Devils have other targets in mind.
Reports from Dutch outlet ED.NL claim United could revive their long-standing interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko - who is keen on a move away from the Netherlands.

Why could United sign as Mbeumo alternative?
United have already wrapped up a move to bring in Brazil international Matheus Cunha from Wolves but they will not go above their current offer for Mbeumo.
As per the latest from ESPN, two new Premier League stars will now come back into focus, with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo back on the table.
Eze is rumoured to have a release clause worth £68m [$90.3m] - which becomes active this month - and the England international is open to moving on.

With a contract until 2027, Palace will consider offers that meet the clause, on the back of Eze winning the FA Cup with Oliver Glasner's team last season.
Semenyo is available for slightly less, valued at around £60m [$80m], but the Ivory Coast international is not a positionally flexible as Eze.
Eze racked up an even split of eight goals and eight assists in top-flight action in 2024/25 with Semenyo on 11 and five respectively.
