Screenshots of RCB star's account liking a post of the model went viral across social media, on the day of his wife Anushka Sharma's birthday. As rumours began to spread, Kohli was forced to release a statement.

Kohli has been one of the standout performers for the Bengaluru-based franchise this year too, as he looks to continue his good touch with the bat and seal RCB's qualification for the playoffs with a win over the five-time champions.

Kohli was caught in the middle of a controversy for allegedly liking an Instagram post of the model Avneet Kaur. However, it appears that it was a mistake as the RCB batter provided a clarification on the same.

"I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for understanding," Kohli shared.

Kohli took to his Instagram stories, saying that it could have been an accident, which happened as he was clearing his Instagram feed, adding that the algorithm might have registered an interaction by mistake.
He further mentioned that it was completely unintentional and requested fans not to create any unwanted assumptions.
