The Kolkata Knight Riders have struggled to get results in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League after retaining almost the complete core from the 2024 side.
The defending champions currently sit 7th on the points table with 4 wins and 5 losses in 10 matches, while one ended in a no result due to rain interruption.
On their freshly formed side, they also saw a notable change where they had let go of Shreyas Iyer—their title-winning captain and replaced him and replaced him with Ajinkya Rahane.

Speaking of which, their lead speedster, Vaibhav Arora spoke about their captaincy styles and how they work with the bowlers on the field.

Arora, who opens the bowling for the Knight Riders, while comparing their captaincies, shared an observation and thought that makes Iyer and Rahane very similar as captains from the bowlers' point of view.

"Both are good. Like, Shreyas is the same as Ajinkya Rahane. Whichever field we call, he shows the trust of the bowler. Like, if the bowler wants the field, he says, it's okay, whatever field you want, you can take it, don't worry about it," said Arora.
"So, there is no difference between the two. Both are very supportive, and both trust the bowlers a lot. Both are equally, I would say, perfect captains," he concluded.
