As a result of the India-Pakistan situation, many overseas players from both leagues opted out of joining their respective teams due to personal reasons or international commitments scheduled ahead of the season.

After players opted out of joining their teams for the remainder of the season, the IPL franchises, notably, also acquired the services of some players from the PSL franchises in the middle of their ongoing campaign to add fuel to the fire.

Which players have joined IPL from PSL in 2025?

As the schedules of the two leagues clashed, the players had to choose one of the two leagues to play in. Many unsold IPL players had to settle with the PSL, however, some got a second opportunity to come in as replacements, and they did not think twice before jumping ship. Check out the list of players below.

1. Corbin Bosch: Peshawar Zalmi to Mumbai Indians

The South African bowler thought it was a better career move for him to choose MI over PZ, considering MI's franchises around the world and went on to apologize to the PSL fans. He made the move to replace Lizaad Williams before the PSL had started.

In the season so far, he has played 3 matches and taken a solitary wicket in 2 innings and scored 47 runs at a strike rate of 146.87.

2. Mitchell Owen: Peshawar Zalmi to Punjab Kings

The 23-year-old Australian was named as the replacement for the injured Glenn Maxwell in the PBKS camp. He did not immediately join them but as the league resumes from May 17, he will be with the squad, snubbing the PSL franchise.

In PSL 2025, he has played 8 matches and scored 102 runs at a strike rate of 192.45 and taken 2 wickets in 2 innings bowled.

3. Kyle Jamieson: Quetta Gladiators to Punjab Kings

Jamieson, who was with QG in the PSL season, has replaced another Kiwi, Lockie Ferguson, whose season ended a few weeks back as he pulled his hamstring in the middle of a game, to see himself getting ruled out.

In the 2 matches played for the Gladiators, he has picked 2 wickets at an economy of 9.00 in 2025.

4. Kusal Mendis: Quetta Gladiators to Gujarat Titans

The 30-year-old Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batter is all set to get his first IPL stint as he replaces a crucial GT player in Jos Buttler, who has international commitments from the QG camp in the PSL.

He has scored 143 runs in 5 innings of his PSL 2025 stint at a strike rate of 168.23 and will be an important replacement from GT's point of view.
