Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming has heaped praise on the young CSK fast bowler, Anshul Kamboj, for his impact in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Kamboj was released by the Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the mega auction in Jeddah last year. Chennai Super Kings roped in the services of the Haryana-based cricketer for INR 3.40 crores in the mega auction.

He has featured in seven matches and has five wickets to his name in the season so far, with his best figures coming against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he notched up 1/16 in his three overs.
CSK faced their tenth defeat of the season against the ninth-placed Rajasthan Royals, as the Royals successfully chased a target of 188, thanks to quickfire innings from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Sanju Samson, and Dhruv Jurel.
Although he ended up on the losing side, Kamboj took the important wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal, as the southpaw was looking well set after a neat knock of 36 from 19 deliveries.

What did Stephen Fleming say?
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has showered praise on the 24-year-old medium pacer's development, especially on his ability to deceive the batsmen with his pace and generate movement off the pitch.
Speaking in the post-match press conference of their match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Fleming said, "Yeah, Kamboj is good. His speed is up to 138-139 kmph and it's deceptive."
Fleming further mentioned that Kamboj's biggest strength is his length, which makes his deliveries unpredictable. He further mentioned that the medium pacer has the potential to do well in both the white and red-ball formats, and the management is happy with his development this season.

"His big strength is his length, and he gets the ball to wobble. He's got some real potential with both the white and red ball, and we're really happy with how he has developed and the opportunity he has taken this year."
Skipper MS Dhoni was also full of praise for the 24-year-old pacer. Speaking after the match, Dhoni said, "Kamboj is someone who doesn't get swing, but he gets some seam movement, the ball hits you harder than the speed gun suggests, he has taken the responsibility and he is someone who can bowl good yorkers."
He further added that Kamboj is someone who can bowl well in the powerplay too, which he feels is tougher when there is little to no movement of the ball and the batters are well set on the crease.
"That's one area where there's a hole for us, we don't want to give away too many runs in the first six overs. He has bowled 3 overs in the powerplay, which I feel is tougher when the ball isn't moving much and when the batsmen are well set."
