The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is in its business end as teams are gearing up to play their best cricket of the season as the playoffs come knocking on the door.
As the league stage of the 2025 season approaches its end, the race to the playoffs is still quite open with just a few games left. Three teams have already been knocked out of this year's competition.

Top seven teams in the points table are still in contention for qualifying into the playoffs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have more or less qualified as they sit at the top of the table with 16 points and a positive net run-rate.
Three more teams out of Punjab Kings (PBKS), Mumbai Indians (MI), Gujarat Titans (GT), Delhi Capitals (DC), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will qualify for the last-four stage. LSG need to improve their negative net run-rate if they want to have any chances of qualifying from this situation.
RCB, PBKS, DC and LSG are chasing their first ever IPL title, where teams like MI are looking to add a sixth trophy to their name.
Gujarat have one title to their name and have renewed their hopes under their new skipper Shubman Gill who has led the side fairly well in this season.

Where are the IPL 2025 playoffs?
The IPL 2025 playoffs are divided into four matches - Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the Final. Both Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Qualifier 2 and the Final will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

When are the IPL 2025 playoffs?
The Qualifier 1 will be played on Tuesday, May 20, and the Eliminator will be played on the next day, Wednesday, May 21.
Qualifier 2 will be played on Friday, May 23 while the Final of the tournament will be played on Sunday, May 25.
