KKR still have a chance to make it to the playoffs, but for that, they must win this match. They have found some rhythm with two straight wins and will look to carry that form forward.

CSK, on the other hand, are out of the race and have nothing to lose. They might now focus on testing their bench and preparing for next season.

In this article, TSN tells you how this match could change the points table.

IPL Qualification trends (Based on past seasons)

  • 16 points (8 wins): Almost guaranteed qualification.
  • 14 points (7 wins): Decent chance but depends on NRR and other results.
  • 12 points (6 wins): Rare. Qualification is only possible in exceptional circumstances.

What is the current standing of KKR and CSK in IPL 2025?

CSK haven’t had a good time this season. They have picked up just 4 points from 11 matches and they are already eliminated from IPL 2025.

KKR has done better so far. They have won 5 out of their 5 matches and are sitting on 11 points. With only four teams going through to the playoffs, KKR know they have to keep winning from here.

What happens if CSK win this game?

If Chennai Super Kings come out on top in this match, they’ll go up to six points from 12 games. But even with the win, their playoff hopes are already over.

For Kolkata Knight Riders though, losing this one could really hurt. They would stay on 11 points and only have two more games left to try and turn things around.

That means they would need to win both the remaining matches to touch 15 points. And even then, there is no surety that 15 would be enough. Usually, teams need at least 16 points to qualify.

What happens if KKR wins against CSK?

A win for Kolkata would take them to 13 points from 12 matches and that would keep them firmly in the playoff race. With two games still left after this, they can reach as high as 17 points.

17 points might be enough depending on how the table shapes up. The win would also help their net run rate. Their current NRR is already positive (+0.249) and that gives them a slight edge.

A victory here will also turn up the heat on teams like RCB, MI, GT, and PBKS, who are sitting on 14 or more points. KKR are in good form with two wins on the trot and another win would help them massively.

What happens if KKR vs CSK ends in a tie or a No Result?

If the match is washed out due to rain, ends in a tie, or is abandoned for some reason, both KKR and CSK will get a point each.

In that case, KKR would move up to 12 and CSK would reach five. It will not matter for Chennai since they are already out. KKR will have to then win both of their final two matches to get to 16 points and 16 points might just be enough depending on how the table shapes up
