Dhoni and Kohli are icons at two of the most famous franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) - Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), respectively.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Porel decided to open up on the 'craze' and experience of playing in front of the CSK and RCB fans at Chepauk and the Chinnaswamy.

IPL 2025: What did Abishek Porel say about MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli?
Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Porel recently appeared on content creator Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps' podcast, where he revealed the passion fans have for both the franchises and their respective mainstays. Check out the video below.
Allahbadia asked Porel if the crowd of a different city or stadium has a different vibe.
In reply, Porel said:
"Yes. For example, look at RCB. For Chennai it's different, the crowd blows whistles for Mahi bhai. But Chennai and Bangalore have crazy people. CSK and Bangalore have different craze, people can travel anywhere, that's how I feel."
He further explained that though Mumbai has Rohit Sharma, there are still a lot of players who are stars in their own way, while CSK and RCB have the two most well-known faces in the form of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
"So CSK has Mahi bhai, and look at RCB it's Virat bhai, and Mumbai have Rohit bhai. Mumbai still has a lot of players but Chennai and Bengaluru have only two known faces. So the crowd there loves to play."
RCB have already qualified for the playoffs and are heavily backed to win their maiden title in 18 years of IPL. Kohli has played some useful innings throughout the season as the Bengaluru-based franchise are eyeing their first-ever IPL trophy.
However, CSK and MS Dhoni both have had a disastrous season, as the five-time winners have already been eliminated from this year's playoff race. They sit at the bottom of the table with just three wins in 13 games.
