The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been a graveyard for bowlers, as numerous records have been made and broken simultaneously by the batters from different teams.

Mammoth individual scores have been the norm, with the race for the Orange Cap being more deadly with each passing season.

It all started with Brendon McCullum's 175* against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2008, with Mitchell Marsh's 117 being the most recent one to register its name in the history books.

Batters have come together to score more than 500 runs in each IPL season, as they find new ways to impress the fans with highly perilous but effective shots. The IPL 2025 season has seen 9 players achieve this feat, a new record for the wings of the cash-rich league.

Before this, the 2023 season held the record for the most number of batters with 500+ runs in an IPL season, as 8 different batters achieved this feat, similar to 2018.

A total of 9 batters have scored 500+ runs this season, with Sai Sudharsan leading the charts with 638 runs in 13 matches, closely followed by his fellow opener Shubman Gill, who has accumulated 636 runs so far.

Batters with most 500+ runs in an IPL season

RCB veteran Virat Kohli leads the list, as he has scored 500+ runs on 8 different occasions in Indian Premier League history.

He is closely followed by David Warner, as the former Australian batter has seven 500+ scores to his name in the IPL.
