The world No. 1 Test bowler is currently leading India's bowling attack in the five-match series against England. Ahead of Day 4 of the Leeds Test, Bumrah spoke to Sky Sports Cricket and explained his bowling technique and how it sets him apart from the others.

Which finger does Jasprit Bumrah use to swing the ball?

Bumrah said he rarely uses his index finger to swing the ball. Instead, he relies heavily on his middle (or "big") finger to generate movement.

"I'm slightly different. I don't use my index finger, I use the big finger all the time. So I try to flick the ball. When I want to bowl an outswing, I flick it this way. And when I want to bowl the inswing, I flick it inside," Bumrah said on Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old said that because of his unique action, he doesn't change his arm position much. Instead, he adjusts his wrist flick and bowling angle from the crease to achieve swing in both directions.

"I usually use my second finger for whichever swing I want to do. I've learned over the years that I can't really change my arm part," he added.

Bumrah's technical breakdown came on the back of yet another match-defining spell. In the first innings of the Leeds Test, he picked up 5 for 83 - his third five-wicket haul in England.

With that, he equalled Kapil Dev's record for the most five-fers by an Indian in away Tests.
