Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul delivered two of the most memorable performances in the first Test against England at Headingley. And while cricket fans took notice, one reaction that stood out came from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka.
The businessman previously made headlines for his strained relationship with KL Rahul. He took to social media to publicly applaud both centurions, including his former IPL captain.

Pant scripted history by becoming the first Indian wicketkeeper to score centuries in both innings of a Test match, joining Zimbabwe's Andy Flower as only the second in the format's history to achieve the feat. His 134 in the first innings was followed by an aggressive 118 in the second.
What did Sanjiv Goenka say about Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul?
Shortly after Pant completed his second hundred, Goenka posted a glowing tribute on X. He also acknowledged KL Rahul's hundred from the first innings.
"Two good! Back-to-back centuries for @RishabhPant17. Aggressive, audacious, brilliant. Only the second wicketkeeper in history to score a century in both innings of a Test. Congratulations also to @klrahul for his hundred. #INDvsENG," he wrote on X
The appreciation for Rahul comes as a surprise to many. Their relationship reportedly turned sour during IPL 2024 when Goenka was seen having an on-field exchange with Rahul after a heavy defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
That moment was widely criticised by fans; it eventually led to Rahul's release ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Later with Delhi Capitals, Rahul was seen ignoring Goenka in a post-match moment that added further fuel to the speculation around their strained dynamic.
Still, Goenka's recent post seems to set aside past differences, at least publicly, in the wake of two exceptional Test performances.
