Virat Kohli's sudden Test retirement in May, ahead of India's tour of England 2025, came as a shock for fans and the cricketing fraternity.

The former captain had last played a Test for India during the New Year's Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January of 2025, where Jasprit Bumrah was leading the side.

However, as fate would have it, Bumrah's injury meant Kohli was leading the troops on the field with Mohammed Siraj as his lead bowler on his final day as a Test player.

The bond between the duo has been well-documented over the years, as the bowler has shown his respect and affection for Kohli at every given chance.

After a successful tour of England, his love for Kohli was again on display when a picture from Siraj's house showed a Kohli jersey framed on the wall.

Framed Kohli retirement jersey on Siraj's wall wins hearts

The photo went viral on Twitter on Saturday afternoon on August 9, as Siraj is sitting with a person beside him.

On the wall behind them is a poster of bowler himself in the Test whites and a red ball alongside Kohli's jersey that he wore in Sydney — 'Virat 18' has been written in pink as it marked the Pink Test, where the McGrath Foundation raises awareness and funds for breast cancer awareness.

Siraj ended the recent England tour with 23 wickets, having played all five Tests. He bowled at an average of 32.43 and scalped two five-fers, with best figures reading 6/70 at Edgbaston.

He was one of the big reasons why India could win the two Tests in Bumrah's absence and bowled to his complete potential, running through the England lineup.
