At just 14 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is already rewriting record books. The Rajasthan Royals prodigy smashed the fastest century in Youth ODI history during the fourth U-19 match between India and England in Worcester on Saturday.

He broke a record that had stood for over a decade. Batting with the same flair that lit up the IPL earlier this year, Suryavanshi reached his hundred in just 52 balls.

He broke Pakistan's Kamran Ghulam's previous record of 53 balls set in 2013. The left-hander struck 10 fours and 7 sixes on his way to the milestone.

He eventually went on to score 143 off 78 deliveries - with 13 fours and 10 sixes.

A dream year for the teenage star

This is not Suryavanshi's first brush with the record books. Earlier in the year, he became the youngest player to score an IPL century - just 14 years and 32 days old, when he struck a 35-ball ton for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans.

That knock made him the second-fastest centurion in IPL history. In the ongoing Youth ODI series, his form has been exceptional.

He smashed 86 off 31 balls in the third match after a 20-ball half-century - the second-fastest by an Indian at this level. His earlier knocks of 48 and 45 in the series showed signs of things to come and Saturday's innings confirmed his place as one of India's most exciting young batters.
