Indian captain Shubman Gill stepped up when he was needed the most as his marvellous 103-run knock kept the team's hopes alive to save the fourth Test match in Manchester.
After England posted a mammoth total of 669 runs and took a 311-run lead, India were reduced to 0/2 in their second innings as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan departed in quick succession.
The skipper walked out under extreme pressure as India were staring at yet another loss and losing the series in the process. Along with KL Rahul, Gill put up a magnificent 188-run partnership as India did not lose any more wickets on Day 4.

On the final day, Gill scored yet another Test century and went past the 700-run mark in the series. He also became only the third player after legendary Sir Donald Bradman and Sunil Gavaskar to score four centuries as captain in a Test series.
