The relationship between Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins has been anything but smooth over the last several months.
The former All-Pro wide receiver appeared to let his frustrations boil over following Miami’s season-ending loss to the New York Jets, posting a cryptic “I’m out” message on social media that sparked speculation about his future with the team.
Since then, Hill has gone back and forth on those frustrations. But at the Dolphins’ opening OTAs, he made it clear he’s trying to reset and recommit.
"Every day I'm trying to prove myself as one of those guys that this team can depend on in crucial moments," Hill said, via the Sun Sentinel. "It was tough, man. Obviously emotions were high then. But at the end of the day, I'm just looking to move forward from that. Hoping that I can prove myself and prove to my teammates that I'm still one of them ones, who chasing 2K (yards), still one of those ones chasing playoff dreams and all that great stuff."
Hill added that he’s been going to church more regularly, attending therapy, and made a physical change as well — dropping from 197 to 183 pounds — in an effort to become even faster.
While it appears Hill is trying to turn a corner, there’s still a chance his future in Miami could be in question after the post-June 1 period.

"As of now, the All-Pro speedster appears set to return to the Miami Dolphins, despite his repeated hints of displeasure following the 2024 campaign," CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin wrote. "And yet, are we sure the Dolphins wouldn't entertain offers if they came in for the 31-year-old deep threat, who's had his fair share of off-field concerns even since exiting the Kansas City Chiefs? Miami would save close to $15 million by trading Hill after June 1 versus suffering a net loss of $600,000 by dealing the ‘Cheetah’ prior to June 1."
Still, moving Hill at this point seems unlikely. As Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr put it, the Dolphins have a “hollow roster,” and cutting ties with their most explosive playmaker would be a major risk.
Then again, Miami may have to consider all possibilities if Hill’s behavior continues to trend toward the erratic — especially if public jabs at the team persist, like his recent dig at Tua Tagovailoa when listing his top quarterbacks in the league.
