Live TV is hard, so ESPN First Take host Monica McNutt will not be the last person to suffer an embarrassing moment in front of an audience.
But McNutt had a ... perhaps regrettable moment on live TV when she confused a Detroit Lions Barry Sanders jersey worn by guest Druski for one honoring Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders.

Again, these things happen on live TV. The host, in this case, McNutt, has a producer in her ear, pushing various Shedeur Sanders angles for the entirety of the show. She's trying to engage with a guest while spitballing segways back to ESPN's encouraged topics of discussion (read: Shedeur Sanders). She sees the name "Sanders" on the guest's jersey and assumes he has a timely take. By the time she realizes she made a mistake, the moment lives in internet infamy.
It must be difficult to create Shedeur Sanders topics at the moment, given that he is currently sidelined by an oblique injury. The son of Deion has been the biggest story in the NFL this offseason, due in large part to his family bloodlines, but also due to his slide to the fifth round of the NFL Draft, and his larger-than-life personality.
McNutt certainly meant no disrespect to her viewers by confusing the jersey of one of the most memorable running backs in NFL history with the jersey of ESPN's talking point of the day. She is only trying to give the people what they want.
