The Cleveland Browns have had, and will continue to have, one of the most-discussed quarterback battles in the NFL. Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders spent OTAs and mini-camp competing for the Week 1 starting job, and will continue to compete in training camp next month.
It's hard to see a true battle taking place with four quarterbacks, as there are only so many reps that can be allocated. ESPN's Adam Schefter gave some clarity to the quarterback battle in Cleveland, saying there are two names who are the overwhelming favorites to win the job.
"I think it would be an upset if Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett were not the Browns opening day starting QB," Schefter said on on Unsportsmanlike.
While many fans would like to see Sanders or Gabriel, the most likely outcome is it will be one of the veteran options to start the season. That doesn't mean either of the rookies won't play - if the season goes south, they very likely will. But in terms of the first Sunday of the year against the Cincinnati Bengals, Flacco or Pickett seem like the two most likely options.
