On May 10, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning jumped into a pool with his latest 5-star recruit commitment.

On Tuesday, May 27, that recruit decommitted from the Ducks.

That's five-star edge rusher Richard Wesley backing out of his verbal pledge that didn't even last a month.

Wesley is the No. 3 player in California in the Class of 2026, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

He has official visits lined up with Texas and Ohio State.

Here's a look back at a video that has not aged well:

Oregon got more bad news on Tuesday when four-star offensive tackle signee Alai Kalaniuvalu flipped to BYU.

Wesley is going to be a difference maker for someone in college football. It just probably won't be Oregon.
