Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith reveals plans for leaving Buckeyes for NFL image

As a true freshman, Jeremiah Smith was one of the best players his age that college football has ever seen.

Ohio State's star is certain to be a top-end NFL Draft pick when he goes to the pros.

The rules don't allow Smith to leave yet, though. He has to spend three years in college.

And when asked by The Athletic what his thoughts are on potentially sitting out a year to stay healthy, or on finding a way to make it out early, Smith had a simple answer.

"I'm enjoying college," Smith said. "I'm in no rush to go to the NFL."

There are surely some NFL teams that would gladly rush Smith right into their receiving corps today.

He had 76 catches for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns in his freshman campaign as the Buckeyes won the national title.

Smith was chosen as co-cover athlete for the new NCAA football video game with peer Ryan Williams of Alabama.

His star will only continue to grow brighter.

But for two more seasons, Smith will keep his shine in Columbus.
