P.J. Haggerty finally has a new college basketball home.

The Memphis transfer, who reportedly wanted $4 million to commit to a new school, made his decision on Monday.

Haggerty will be going to Kansas State, per Joe Tipton. It’s expected that he won’t get anywhere near the $4 million he was seeking, but reports will likely clarify that in the coming days.

The 6-foot-3 guard from Crosby, Texas knows all about the transfer portal. He spent his first college basketball season at TCU, his second at Tulsa and his third at Memphis.

Haggerty has grown into a bonafide star. He poured in 21.2 points per game for Tulsa to earn his spot at Memphis, then put up 21.7 points per game in 2024-25 to earn second-team All-American status. He also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals per game with the Tigers.

College basketball insider Jeff Goodman reported that Haggerty wanted an NIL deal worth $4 million or more from his transfer destination. Haggerty also wanted assurances that he'll be his new team's point guard, per Goodman.

"We've seen what sort of point guard he is," The Sporting News' Mike DeCourcy wrote on X. "Tremendous player. Not a high-level college point guard."

From a basketball perspective, it’s a huge get for K-State. Players of Haggerty’s caliber don’t often end up in Manhattan, Kansas.

They likely had to shell out seven figures for him, but probably not $4 million.

The college basketball world will now wait and see how it all works out.
