The Boston Celtics knew entering the offseason that there was a good chance they'd have to move on from Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis is a great player, but he has flaws, notably his history of dealing with injuries throughout his career.
If Porzingis is on the court, there's a strong argument to be made that he's one of the better centers in the NBA, but it's also tough to ignore the injuries he's dealt with.
Ultimately, the Celtics moved him in a deal involving Georges Niang, acquiring a decent veteran who has proven capable of hitting open shots and winning at the highest level throughout his career.
However, according to Jake Fischer, when speaking on a Bleacher Report live stream, he stated that teams around the league believe that the Celtics are looking to move on from the Iowa State product, per Hoops Rumors.
“The Celtics remain active on the trade market as they try to get their roster younger and cheaper, Fischer adds. He states that Boston had discussions with the Grizzlies recently, but doesn’t provide any other details. He states that rival teams believe the Celtics are trying to unload both Anfernee Simons and Georges Niang,” they wrote.
Niang isn't an elite player by any means, but if the Celtics had to keep him on the roster for a couple of months, it wouldn't be the worst thing.

Ultimately, there could be a team interested in him during the remainder of the offseason or at the deadline.
He shot an impressive 40.6% from 3-point range on 5.2 attempts per game last year.
Teams value that.
