Another Wallabies star has committed to Australian rugby long-term.

Tom Wright has inked a three-year extension with Rugby Australia and the ACT Brumbies, keeping him on home soil through to 2028.

Crucially, that period will include the upcoming British and Irish Lions Tour, as well as the Rugby World Cup in 2027.

Wright, 27, has made 37 Test appearances for the Wallabies since his debut in 2020.

He has also established himself as Australia's first-choice fullback, earning 12 caps at the position last season.

"I’m extremely happy to have my long-term future secured here in Australia and with the Brumbies in Canberra," Wright said.

"As a kid, all I ever dreamed of was representing the Wallabies, and with the milestones coming up over the next few years, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be playing my rugby.

"I feel I’ve got a lot of growth still in me as a player, and I’ll be continuing to work hard to hopefully contribute to success with the Brumbies and the Wallabies."

Rugby Australia's director of high performance, Peter Horne, has described Wright as a "consistent and popular" player in the Wallabies' current set-up.

"Tom has developed into an excellent outside back and we are happy to have come to an agreement to keep him in Australian Rugby for a further three years, taking him beyond the home Rugby World Cup in 2027," he said.

"He has established himself as a consistent and popular member of the Wallabies squad and we feel he is entering the prime of his career as a Test player which is exciting for supporters of Australian Rugby with the significant milestones on the horizon."

Wright will remain focused on seeing out the Super Rugby season with the Brumbies before attention shifts to international fixtures.

The Wallabies' first Test match of the year will be against Fiji on July 6.
